Family Maternity Photo Shoot in Studio
I may love a maternity photo shoot in studio more than the next photographer, so know that I am fully biased when I say this shoot is hard not to love.
Oxana had a pretty specific vision for her maternity photo shoot. She had been searching for a photographer that aligned with that vision when she asked Kristin at Any Angle Photography, who is a senior photographer, if she had any recommendations. Kristen told her she only knew of one photographer in the area that creates the kind of in-studio style Oxana was looking for and sent her my way.
I really admire Kristin and she is a quite well known Minnesota photographer, so receiving that recommendation really warmed my heart.
A Woman with a Vision - Minnesota Maternity Photo Shoot
Oxana came to the consultation for our maternity photo shoot in studio very prepared! She knew what she wanted and what she didn't want from her shoot. It can sometimes be challenging to deliver exactly what someone wants when they can see it so clearly.
I was determined to do everything in my power to bring her vision to life.
A big part of that vision was bubbles! I'd never tried to capture bubbles on camera before. So, I did loads of research and sample shoots to learn through trial and error and perfect my lighting set up. It was new and fun and challenging!
In the end, I think we did an amazing job at capturing the bubbles and her vision with them.
Maternity Photo Shoot with a Toddler
Oxana mostly brought her own wardrobe for the shoot, but did use one dress from our client closet! It all worked together to help us bring her vision to life.
She also brought her family with her, wanting to include them in the shoot! She knew how she wanted to style them, too. It worked great with the lighting styles and background she was wanting!
It can be a great challenge to include a toddler in a maternity photo shoot, but it can also be very natural and sweet and create perfect moments for capturing (how precious is that one with her toddler steering the toy car over her baby bump?!?!!). You are their parent and already know how to best prepare them. Trust your instincts, maybe bring some extra snacks or favorite toys, and trust that it will all work out (and that I specialize in maternity in cake smash, so this is totally my area of expertise!). Sometimes, it is the pressure for absolute "perfection" with no wiggle room that creates the challenge.
