Milestone Photography - Before the Crawl
Milestone photography is one of the most precious roles I get to play as a Minnesota photographer. Typically, littles learn to sit, then crawl. Getting them in the studio for a sitter session around the 6-8 month mark usually hits that sweet spot where they can sit up for themselves, but will stay mostly stationary so we can capture that sweet face.
Sometimes, though, a kiddo will (for whatever reason) find their way to crawling before sitting or are unable to sit independently. That is when having some alternatives to sitting becomes especially important.
Laying them on their back for a straight down shot captures them in all of their cuteness—the leg rolls, the tummy, the tiny toes, the wide smile.
We had this sweet boy in the studio (check out the behind the scenes!) a while back, and trust me, you will not even be able to handle all of this cuteness!
The Tummy
This sweet boy was all curiosity and smiles in the studio!
It was the ultimate tummy time for him and it gave us some truly precious photos of him! Having baby on their tummy for the session means we can capture their six month milestone, regardless of if they have the ability to sit independently or not.
The six month milestones is, in my opinion, one of the most important milestones to capture! You can really see their personality begin to shine through, and the difference between 6 months and a year (the one year cake smash is my specialty) is so cool to be able to compare and treasure.
Minnesota Milestone Photographer
Serving the Minneapolis area is a great privilege of mine. Especially when it comes to documenting a little one's growth. It can be a huge luxury to professionally capture their milestones. As they grow up it will be one of the things you hold closest to your heart.
