Investing in maternity photos can be a major decision. If you've wondered to yourself "Are maternity photos worth it?", allow me to help you decide.
I may be biased as a maternity photographer here in Minneapolis, Minnesota, but I have some perspective you may not have considered. I have talked with quite a few expecting parents and have been in your position.
You won't regret getting maternity photos taken, but you may regret NOT taking them or settling for a photographer you didn't love. When I was pregnant with my son, I didn't feel like having my picture taken. I was uncomfortable and didn't think I would want to look back on that time. Now, I take maternity photos so my clients don't have to regret that they didn't take them.
I know the investment can be hefty, but it is an investment. Eventually, when you are no longer in this season of life, the photos will be precious, priceless. It is a big investment because it is important. Your photographer put a lot of time into perfecting their craft and into creating your session—all so future you can look back on this season of life.

You will ideally want your shoot to take place between 28-32 weeks into your pregnancy to have that pregnancy belly at its most photographable.
When to book maternity photos
The sooner the better for getting your photoshoot booked. The more time you have to plan the shoot and make sure your photographer will be available will make for a better shoot.

Finding a maternity photographer near you can prove to be quite a challenge. The most effective way to find your maternity photographer may be a search on Instagram since most photographers use it! Search "your city photographer" and you should be able to find lots of options!
